Sarah Palin Wardrobe - Elitist?

In a funny twist of fate it was just revealed that in the last two months Sarah Palin has spent $250,000 on her new political image, including clothing and accessories as well as makeup and hair products.

The money has been coming straight from the Republican National Committee and is more than Palin's yearly governor salary of $125,000. But its not like she didn't need it. In older pictures, when she was just the governor of Alaska, she is wearing frumpy turtle necks and fleece sweaters.

Many politicians spend extraordinary amounts of money on their image, which makes sense - looks matter. Obama bought a new $1,500 suit while on a shopping spree with Hart Schaffner Marx before his nomination acceptance speech in Denver. Senator McCain has spent $520 on Ferragamo shoes. McCain's wife Cindy spends $5,000 on Oscar de la Renta day dresses, and once told Vogue that the kids loved her beachfront condo so much and came to visit so often . . . she bought another one just for them.

The problem with Palin is that she is marketing herself to be a no frills hockey mom but is spending $18,000 a week on her appearance. Her down to earth advertisement just doesn't match the price tag.

Ms. Palin, I have to ask you, who's elitist now?
