McCain Apologies: I Screwed Up

John McCain had no choice when asked about why he lied on national tv when asked by David Letterman. As usual, it is not the great political analysts that bring the best questions to presidential candidates, but talk show hosts like David Letterman.

McCain, without much to explain, said "I Screwed Up" several times, to explain why to lie when he could have said the truth directly to David Letterman. Several times, McCain did not have a choice other than confessing the truth.

That made me think that if John McCain has to lie about such microscopic issues such as his appeareacne in a talk show, what kind of assurance this man can bring me as the president of the United States?

Letterman asked about McCain's ties to a domestic terrorist who has actually served time in jail. McCain's response? He said that becaue his terrorist buddy had spent time in jail he had paid for his terrorist crimes. Letterman also inquired about Pailin stateing that Obama pals around with terrorists. McCain becgan to say that he did not know if Pailin had actually said this but quickly gave in, saying that yes Pailin had made this accusation. At one point McCain was speechless and Letterman had to cut to comercials.

Leave it up to the "layperson" to ask the though questions.
