If Elected, John McCain may not survive his first term

·

Scientist John Alam, a Cambridge, Massachusetts, physician with 17-years in clinical research who now works as a biotechnology consultant, says that John McCain may not survive his first term in the white house. Alam says McCain has a 1 to 5 chance, or 6% per year (22% over 4 years) that he may become inapt to to his job as The United States president.

According to Alam, his research is independent and not influenced by his political views. It is common for a relapse in John McCain’s clinical situation, and added that to his age, his chances of being alive and ready to respond to the incredible pressures posed as part of his job are not that promising.

For comparison, a quick web search reveals the odds of dying in the US of other causes, natural and unnatural:

* Poisoning (lifetime): 1 in 180

* Bicycle accident (lifetime): 1 in 4,472
* Defenestration (lifetime): 1 in 6,422
* Venomous plants and animals (lifetime): 1 in 46,539
* Legal execution (lifetime): 1 in 72,494
* Lightning (lifetime): 1 in 81,949
* Fireworks (lifetime): 1 in 1,884,832
